Auroras “Performance” longboard. Shaped with the purpose of balancing longboard trim with responsiveness turns.

The Tyler is designed for deep pocket trim and speed where it counts. Love’s the bigger stuff.

I’m the creator and shaper behind Aurora Surfboards.
You could say surfing is a pre-requisite growing up on the Gold Coast, but it wasn’t until the final years of school and moving further south of the GC where I really fell in love with the craft.
My appreciation for surfboard design piqued as a grom when learning about legends like Albert “Rabbit” Kekai, Greg Noll and Bruce Brown. I wanted to know more, which grew a curiosity for how those principles can be refined for the individual surfer.
It’s looking beyond a set of dimensions.
How do you surf? What are you riding now? What works? What doesn't? What waves are you surfing most often? And what do you want your next board to give you?
Those answers help inform the shape.
From there, I bring together outline, rocker, rails, bottom contours, fin setup and construction to create a board where the details work as a whole.
It's a considered approach. Informed by experience.
